Corporate Council

Cultural institutions and communities thrive with symbiotic involvement and financial support.

The Balloon Museum Foundation’s Corporate Council advises and supports the Foundation on broadening it’s appeal, expanding awareness and  acquiring involvement and contributions from businesses and corporate leaders in the Central NM community.

By joining the Anderson Abruzzo International Balloon Museum Foundation Corporate Council, you become part of a vibrant community of aligned professionals who are passionate about fostering the joy and wonder of balloon flight and aerostatic exploration. Together, we honor the legacy of past innovators, support the aspirations of future explorers, cultivate meaningful relationships, and showcase the distinctive contributions that ballooning and innovation have made to the rich tapestry of New Mexico. Your membership not only connects you to a diverse network but also actively contributes to preserving and advancing the spirit of ballooning in our community.

Through membership, your business connects with professionals who share similar values and interests, fostering community engagement. This network opens doors to opportunities and experiences, enabling you to build valuable relationships, expand your fellowship not only with shared-interest peers but also with other business and community leaders.

Membership brings recognition at events and in museum communications, enhancing your brand visibility. Supporting a cultural foundation demonstrates corporate social responsibility, positively impacting your public image and potentially attracting positive media attention.

By contributing financially and through in-kind services, your business plays a crucial role in supporting the foundation’s mission. This contribution extends to world-class exhibitions, educational programs, and preservation. Being part of the Corporate Council potentially leads to collaborative initiatives, partnerships, or business development opportunities.

The purpose of the AAIBMF Corporate Council is to increase support and involvement from corporations and corporate leaders for AAIBMF activities in Albuquerque. It seeks to identify and pursue new funding opportunities and corporate supporters, advising AAIBMF and its Board of Directors on approaches to broaden appeal, awareness, and support from corporations and corporate leaders in the Albuquerque community.

The Corporate Council reports to the Board of Directors and consists of members committing to two-year renewable terms. Nominations for membership are presented by the Council with input from the Board of Directors and the Executive Director. Non-exclusivity regarding areas of business is maintained. The Council, headed by Co-Chairs chosen by the Council with input from the Executive Director, attends AAIBMF board meetings to report on progress but does not hold voting rights.

The Council serves in an advisory role to the organization and its Board of Directors, with no operating responsibility, authority, or fiduciary responsibility for AAIBMF operations. Meetings occur four times a year.

Members disseminate the AAIBMF message, encouraging support in Albuquerque through personal introductions and hosting events. Leveraging their expertise and resources, members support the Executive Director and AAIBMF to fulfill its mission and improve financial sustainability. Attendance at four Council meetings annually and participation in AAIBMF events, such as the annual Balloon Fiesta and galas, is expected. Members contribute a minimum of $5,000 annually from their corporation and/or individually through direct contributions or the purchase of AAIBMF event tickets.

In summary, joining a Corporate Council aligns your business with cultural values, enhances community presence, and provides tangible benefits that positively impact both your business and the broader community.
