The Balloon Museum Foundation presents an annual fundraising gala to support the exhibitions and educational efforts of the Balloon Museum. For many years, the Foundation presented the Chic-I-Boom Gala, named after the first special shape balloon, “Chic-I-Boom” in honor of the Carmen Miranda inspired historical balloon. This event was traditionally held in August of every year.

June 5th is National Hot Air Balloon Day. At the Balloon Museum, we celebrate all month with loads of fun and historical markers for ballooning in June. The Balloon Museum Foundation celebrates with specials in the Shoppe and museum attendance.

Annually, the City of Albuquerque presents the city’s largest firework display from Balloon Fiesta Park on July 4. The neighboring Balloon Museum has the best view, amenities and parking for this holiday. The Balloon Museum Foundation sells lawn tickets, dinner tickets and VIP tickets for July 4. Event is subject to change and cancellation.

The Balloon Museum is the proud home of the FAI Hall of Fame, honoring balloon pilots from around the world, both contemporary and historically. Every year, the Balloon Museum, FAI and Balloon Museum Foundation present an induction ceremony and new highlights to the sport ballooning exhibition in the Balloon Museum.

New Mexico boasts the world’s largest Balloon Rally which is always in Albuquerque and always in October. The Balloon Museum was built next to the enormous park which holds the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and is meant to be the host of multiple events and exhibitions which support and correlate to the Balloon Fiesta.

The Balloon Museum Foundation hosts the Observation Deck – special ticketed dining available to the public and groups to enjoy the grandeur of Balloon Fiesta from the elegance of the Balloon Museum. The dining events are the Balloon Museum Foundation’s largest fundraiser each year. Events are subject to cancellation and change in format.
