Held Over By Request through September 7, 2008 - Airships: The Big, Bad, and Bold
- Blimps, dirigibles, zeppelins . . . no matter what we call them, airships have played a fascinating role in world history, art, culture, science and recreation. From the Hindenburg to Goodyear—from Graf Zeppelin to Led Zeppelin—images of airships challenge our imagination. In this popular exhibit we revisit the wonder of these "monsters of the sky" through award-winning models, art and historical objects. Free with admission.
April 20, 2008 (continuing into 2009) Native Americans and Ballooning
Native Americans have an intimate relationship to nature and the sky. From Peru's Nazca lines to pottery and "Zebras," learn about Native Americans' cultural, artistic, scientific and historic connections to balloons and ballooning in this new exhibition, timed to open in conjunction with the 25th Annual Gathering of Nations Powwow. Free with admission.

Las Nubes de La Palma / The Clouds of La Palma: Clouds, Weather and Ballooning - Learn all about different cloud formations through spectacular photographs of clouds above the island of La Palma (Canary Islands). Then, delve into the ways clouds help us understand weather; the contributions of ballooning to weather research; and the importance of understanding weather in order to be a safe balloonist. Las Nubes de La Palma was made available through the Spanish Ministry of Environment and the National Institute of Meteorology of Spain. Free with admission.

Silk Painters International Special Exhibition: THE ART OF BALLOONING – Patterns in the Sky
An exhibition of up to 30 painted silk panels displaying a theme of hot air balloons in original designs and painted with silk dyes will adorn the museum from the beginning of August through the run of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta©. The exhibition will be a joint Fundraiser for SPIN and the Balloon Museum Foundation. Free with admission.

Enjoy this graphical celebration of Balloon Fiesta®, Albuquerque's premier annual event. Colorful posters, bumper stickers and "living history" recordings connect visual images and stories—about artists, ballooning pioneers and the ballooning "fraternity" that capture the magic of Balloon Fiesta® over the past 35+ years.
